Yup that is a full sentence and really sums up a whole lot. Buying or selling a home is for most people the largest financial decision they will make, do you really want it handled by a real estate agent that has limited to no experience???? I can say without a doubt that I would not!
What qualifies as an experienced agent?
An experienced agent is not judged solely by how long they have had their license for. If that agent has been licensed for 7 years but has only sold 8 homes, they are FAR from experienced. They are an agent with one year experience 7 times! However, if the agent has been licensed for 4 years and has sold 40 homes, this agent has handled enough transactions and different situations to have a comfort zone with the process.
The difference between an experienced agent and one with little experience or skill is very evident.
